Renting Mobility Equipment Anywhere in New Hampshire: A Region-by-Region Guide
New Hampshire packs beaches, cities, lakes and mountains into a small state, and the right mobility equipment depends a lot on where you are going. Here is our region-by-region guide to mobility equipment rental in New Hampshire.
The Seacoast: Hampton, Rye, Portsmouth
Home base for us. Hampton Beach has a long, flat boardwalk that is perfect for a travel scooter, and the sand calls for a beach wheelchair. Portsmouth's downtown is compact but has brick sidewalks and some slopes, so a 4-wheel scooter is a good fit. See beach wheelchairs at Hampton Beach.
Manchester and Nashua
Visits here are often about family, medical appointments, or events at SNHU Arena. Expect parking garages and long hallways. A transport chair is easy in the car, and a scooter helps at the mall. See Mall of New Hampshire tips.
Concord
The State House area and Main Street are walkable and fairly flat. A rollator works for many visitors.
The Lakes Region
Laconia, Weirs Beach, Meredith and Wolfeboro mean boardwalks, docks, lake cottages and family reunions. Bring a ramp for cottage steps and a heavy-duty scooter for gravel driveways and grass.
The White Mountains
North Conway outlets, Franconia Notch and the Kancamagus. Lots of in-and-out of the car, so a breakdown travel scooter or a transport chair is usually best. See accessible Kancamagus stops.
