Mobility Equipment Rental in New Hampshire: The Complete Guide

Needing mobility equipment for a short time is more common than people think. A parent visiting for the summer. A surgery with six weeks of recovery. A beach vacation with a grandparent who uses a wheelchair at home but cannot bring it. Buying equipment for a few weeks is expensive and leaves you with something to store. Renting is simpler.

Oceans Mobility rents mobility equipment across New Hampshire, from Hampton Beach and Portsmouth to Manchester, Concord, the Lakes Region and the White Mountains. Here is everything you can rent and how to choose.

Mobility equipment you can rent in NH

Mobility scooters

For people who can sit and steer but cannot walk long distances. We rent Pride GoGo travel scooters that break down for a car trunk, and Pride Victory heavy-duty scooters for hills, longer range and higher weight capacity. Add a spare battery for full days.

Wheelchairs

A standard wheelchair (19 inch seat, up to 275 lb) can be self-propelled or pushed. A lightweight transport chair is pushed by a companion and folds small. Not sure which? Read transport chair vs wheelchair.

Rollator walkers

A rollator has wheels, hand brakes and a seat. Great for people who can walk but need support and rests.

Ramps

A foldable wheelchair ramp gets a chair or scooter over a step at a rental cottage or a relative's front door.

Beach equipment

Beach wheelchairs with wide balloon tires roll across soft sand, and we rent beach wagons and carts for gear.

How to choose the right equipment

• Can they walk short distances? A rollator or a scooter, depending on stamina.
• Can they steer and sit up for hours? A scooter gives the most independence.
• Will a companion always be along? A transport chair is the lightest option.
• Going on sand? Only a beach wheelchair works well.

Rental terms

Rent by the day, week or longer. Pricing is a flat daily rate times the number of days, shown in the rental catalog. Every item is cleaned and sanitized between rentals and scooters arrive fully charged. Pick up in Hampton Beach or ask about delivery anywhere in New Hampshire.
