Market Square and the downtown grid

Market Square is flat and paved, but the real challenge is the cumulative distance: parking is usually several blocks out, and a good downtown day has you crisscrossing the grid between shops, cafes, and the waterfront. A mobility scooter means you park once and explore freely. A travel scooter is especially handy here, nimble on busy sidewalks and easy to tuck in at a cafe.

Strawbery Banke and Prescott Park

Strawbery Banke is a living-history museum with grassy areas and some uneven historic pathways, so it's worth mentioning when you book, we'll steer you toward the model that handles mixed surfaces best. Prescott Park, just beside it, has lovely paved paths along the water that are a pleasure on a scooter, particularly during the summer arts festival when the gardens are in full bloom and the walk from end to end is longer than it looks.

If you'll have a companion

Not everyone wants to ride a scooter. If you mainly need help with distance and someone will be with you, a lightweight transport chair is easy to push on the paved areas and folds into any trunk between stops. A rollator with a seat is another great option for walking a bit and resting often.
